Winner in the nature category: Shrimp in Sponge. William Goodwin, US. This peppermint shrimp is spending the day in a branching vase sponge about 75ft deep in Bonaire's Margate Bay. Lighting was achieved with an HID torch shining on the outside of the sponge. This is rock art depictions of cattle, camels, and people in the Sahara region of Chad as evidence that humans and animals once occupied this area. This was taken by national geographic phtographer. At the time rock art was done—from the fifth to the second millennium B.C.—the area was an open savanna, which supported the animals represented in the rock art.
